One of the best Talbots over recent years, and possibly the best since the 1986 and 1982, this sexy juggernaut of a wine struts forth with an opaque plum/ruby/purple color and terrific notes of creme de cassis, licorice, roasted herbs and smoky barbecue. It is a brilliant effort, with a full body, wonderful fruit, a savory, expansive mouthfeel, sensational texture and a long finish, but no hardness or astringency. This is a fabulous Talbot to drink over the next 20-25 years.

Château Talbot is a prestigious estate in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux. Renowned for its classic Saint-Julien qualities – generous bouquet, aging potential, and structure – it's a favorite among connoisseurs. The Cordier family, who have owned the estate since 1918, are dedicated to producing exceptional wines. Château Talbot boasts a rich history. Named after a 15th-century English soldier, it was classified as a Fourth Growth in 1855. Today, the 107-hectare estate is meticulously managed, with 102 hectares planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. During harvest, meticulous hand-selection ensures only the ripest grapes reach the state-of-the-art vat room. The winemaking process involves a dedicated team, including the Cordiers and renowned consultants. Château Talbot even produces the unique white wine, Le Caillou Blanc, a rarity in Saint-Julien. Château Talbot wines are known for their ageability and versatility. They can be enjoyed young with decanting or cellared for years to develop further complexity.
