Tasting Notes: A vivid nose of deep florals: dark roses, violets, and an undertow of ripe red fruit. The palate really shows the best of each vineyard that makes up the cuvée. A pure but powerful drive of fruit on a perfect cusp of ripeness, with complexing notes of sandalwood and spice. This is all about harmony and balance with the transparency of fruit allowing the detail to shine through. Silken tannins finish the package.

Felton Road is a leading biodynamic estate in Bannockburn, Central Otago, New Zealand, known for producing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling of exceptional clarity and finesse. Established in 1991 on steep, north-facing slopes with low-fertility, glacially derived soils, the estate is entirely estate-owned and certified organic and biodynamic. Owner Nigel Greening and winemaker Blair Walter have long championed a low-intervention philosophy: all wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, gravity-fed, unfined, and unfiltered, allowing the nuances of each vineyard to express themselves. Felton Road’s commitment to biodiversity includes cover crops, composting, and animals for natural weed and pest control. Their reputation as a Central Otago benchmark has only grown in recent years. In 2024, Felton Road was named The Real Review’s Winery of the Year New Zealand for the first time. In 2025, they became the first producer to win the title consecutively. As noted by Stephen Wong MW, “Felton Road is the Winery of the Year New Zealand 2025, proving that they have not rested on their laurels… their wines shone for that balance of elegance and power which has become a hallmark of the winery.”
