Roserock Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir 2023

750ml

SGD 85.00

94 points, Wine Spectator

Impeccably structured yet sleekly elegant, with raspberry and blueberry flavors accented by savory tea, stony mineral and dusky spice notes as this gathers tension toward fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2033.

Our 2023 Roserock Pinot Noir radiates warmth and energy within its bright ruby hue. The nose is alive with vibrant tart cherry and orange-cranberry notes, balanced by an earthy undertone. Cascading dark fruits unfold on the palate, accented by hints of baking spice, stone, and delicate floral notes. Structured and refined, this Pinot Noir is a delight now and will continue to gain depth and complexity over the next 8-12 years.

Tasting Notes: The colour is a striking light garnet, darkening at the core. On the nose, black currant and ripe plum, followed by crushed red flowers and clove. The palate opens with intense cherry and cranberry, mixed with a hint of allspice and light notes of oak. The tannins are dusty yet elegant, blending beautifully with the fresh and bright acidity. Texture, balance, and length are all impeccable, making for a pretty wine that drinks well now but should age very nicely for 6-8 years and beyond.

Discover the Winery: Domaine Drouhin Oregon

In 1987, Robert Drouhin was invited to participate in the first International Pinot Noir Celebration, and on that trip, he decided to purchase land in the Dundee Hills region of Oregon. Where there had only been Christmas trees and wheat, the Drouhin's began planting their first vineyards in Oregon. At the same time, Robert nominated Véronique to be the newly christened Domaine Drouhin Oregon (DDO) winemaker, and her brother Philippe Drouhin took responsibility for viticulture. In 1988, DDO produced its first vintage, from purchased grapes, and in 1989 built the landmark, four-story gravity flow winery. Situated atop the Dundee Hills, between 400' to 800' in elevation, the site was selected for its remarkable similarity in climate, latitude and aspect to the legendary vineyards of Burgundy. From what started as test plantings of cloned Pinot Noir rootstock, Domaine Drouhin now encompasses 124 acres of hillside vineyards. Interspersed with the Pinot Noir vines are 11 acres of Chardonnay, planted at various elevations and, like in Burgundy, planted right alongside rows of Pinot Noir.
